But probably more specifically the tannins in the oak. A lot of "veg-tanned" leather is done so with oak tannins, so that's probably the connection. WebOn the nose it is still quite appealing (sweet, spicy, pralines) but on the palate it is just bitter. Not excitingly bitter like a good bitter beer.
